SKOWHEGAN — A local man was arrested Sunday afternoon after allegedly threatening another man on Madison Avenue with a knife.
Police arrested Charles Fairley, 32, of North Avenue in Skowhegan, on a charge of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, a Class C felony punishable by up to five years if he is convicted.
Skowhegan police were dispatched to an apartment on Madison Avenue around 3:30 p.m. for a report of a disturbance, Detective Sgt. Josh King said. Residents told police that Fairley threatened a man who lives at 213 Madison Ave.
Officers determined that nobody had been attacked with the knife and there were no injuries, but police charged Fairley with criminal threatening.
Somerset County Sheriff’s deputies also responded to assist the Skowhegan officers at the scene, according to King.
