The suspect charged in the November 2015 robbery of Trademark Federal Credit Union in Augusta has died.

A spokesman for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed Friday that the cause of death of Jaime S. Morrill, 43, of Randolph, was suicide by hanging. He was free on bail at the time.

State charges of robbery and theft against Morrill were dismissed this week.

When he was arrested in late December, Morrill told police he had been down to his last $2 when he robbed the credit union on Edison Drive.

The robbery occurred Nov. 24, and no weapons were shown.
