A Dresden man pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court to conspiring to distribute heroin and cocaine base, according to a news release from the office of acting U.S. Attorney Richard W. Murphy, of the District of Maine.
Daniel Pallis, 29, conspired with others to distribute the drugs in central Maine between January 2015 and October 2016, according to the release. A confidential informant ordered drugs from one of his co-conspirators, leading investigators to Pallis.
The charge carries a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, a $1,000 fine and at least three years of supervised release. Sentencing will take place after a pre-sentence investigation is completed.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance provided by the Augusta Police Department. The case was investigated and prosecuted as part of the Department of Justice’s strategy to combat the opioid epidemic, according to the release.
